This is a special program designed for children and teenagers aged 8 to 17 from all over the world, who wish to improve their English and at the same time meet new friends and have tons of fun. It includes 20 lessons (16 hrs. approx.) per week, residential accommodation on university and independent school campuses, all meals, at least 2 full-day and 1 half-day excursions per week, social activities, all materials and a certificate.

Is there a minimum age to apply for an English course at St Giles?
The minimum age to apply is 16 years old, for platinum courses is 21 years old, and 30 years of age for 30+ programs. Moreover, there are special courses for teenagers under 16 years of age, including special activities for them you have fun while learning English.
Do students need a High School diploma to apply? Can they apply if they are still in High School?
No, there is no need for applicants to be high school graduates. They only need to comply with the English proficiency and minimum age requirements.
How does the application process work?
You must fill in an online form, pay the initial fees -registration fee, course deposit and UK visa fee (if applicable), accommodation deposit, accommodation placement fee, insurance fee and airport transfer (if applicable)-, and then St Giles will be able to issue an acceptance letter. With this you can apply for the visa you need to study (in case you need one), and then you have to pay for the tuition fee, at least 21 days before the course’s start date.
Is there any deadline to apply?
There's no deadline. However, you must leave enough time for your visa/permit application process, as well as keep in mind that courses might be filled up if the starting date is too near.
How is my English proficiency level tested?
You will take a placement test on your first day at school.
Do I need to submit a test score or a transcript when applying to these ESL courses?
No, your English proficiency level will be determined by the placement test.
Do I receive any certification or documents by the end of the course?
Yes, you will receive a report if your class attendance is over 80%.

Each class lasts 50 minutes and in some cases are held both in the morning and in the afternoon. Typically, courses have 20, 22, or 28 lessons a week.
What kind of accommodations are available?

Do I need to buy any books?
Books are not included. Typically, the price is £25-£50 (UK) or $100 CAD (Canada) and can be bought at the school's bookstore. Students enrolled on programs up to 4 weeks can pay a deposit for the book and return it for a reimbursement. If they'll study for more than 4 weeks, they must buy them and pay for them in full.
Is there an application fee for the English courses?
Yes, there is an application fee of £80/$150 CAD, which can be paid via Flywire, debit card or credit card.
When do I pay? What are the payment methods for these ESL courses?
You must pay the tuition fee at least 21 days before the start date, and the initial fees as soon as possible, as St Giles will not issue an acceptance letter without receiving those payments beforehand. Payment options for the tuition fee are debit card, credit card, or international bank transfer.
