The Intensive General English day classes are our most popular option for students enrolling from abroad. Evening classes are a popular option for students who work during the day. The downtown location, right across the street from the train station, makes it easy for students to travel between work and school.

The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course combines a comprehensive language study program with preparation for academic study demands, including listening to lectures, research, assignment writing, and participation in tutorials. The Junior program is organized for teenagers aged 14-17 and focus on English language lessons, the unique Global Citizen program as well as cultural visits and fun activities.

Is there a minimum age to enroll in an English course at ELC?
It depends on the program. The Junior program accept students from 14 to 17 years old. For other programs the minimum age is 16 years. Please contact a representative for more details.
Do students need a high school diploma to enroll?
No, they do not need a high school diploma to enroll.
Is there a registration deadline?
There is no registration deadline, although in some cases, due to visa requirements, it is recommended to register a few weeks in advance. You should also be aware that courses may not have openings if you register at short notice.
How is my English level measured?
Students take a placement test to determine their level.
Do I need to attach a standardized test score or grade concentration when enrolling in these ESL courses?
No, your English level will be determined by the placement test.
Do I receive a certificate or document at the end of the course?
Yes, you will receive a certificate of participation detailing your level of English, the dates on which you studied and your percentage of attendance.
I am not a student in my country, can I enroll in these English courses with a student visa?
Yes, you do not need to be a student at the time of enrollment. Anyone can enroll in these programs, as long as they meet the minimum requirements.-
Can I enroll in these ELS courses on a visitor visa or visa waiver?
Yes, but with a visitor visa, you can study for 2-12 weeks, either part-time or full-time at your convenience and you will not be allowed to work.
What are the school's English levels?
At ELC you will find six levels of English: Elementary, Lower Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced.
How many students are in each class?
12 students on average and a maximum of 16 per class.
What accommodation is available?
Options include: homestay and residences in agreement with ELC. In addition, students can also find accommodation on their own in hotels, hostels, apartments or residences.
Can I use the school's facilities?
Yes, ELC facilities and services are freely accessible to all students.
Are there any extracurricular activities?
ELC has social programs for students to have fun. Certain costs may apply, such as admission fees, transportation, food, etc.
